Getting in Touch After Hours

The Family Healthcare Center has a physician on call 24 hours a day. The key to appropriate, faster and more economical health service is to call us first before going to the emergency room. If you should need assistance after normal office hours you can call the Laurens County Hospital at 833-9100 and have our physician on call paged.

How to prepare for your office visit

When you call for your appointment or procedure, the office staff will ask for a brief description of your medical needs. Doing so will help schedule the appropriate amount of time for your appointment. Also, please bring all of your medications with you so your physician can keep accurate records and provide the best possible care.

Appointment cancellations

Appointment time is valuable for our patients, and not keeping one denies time another patient may be seen. We may charge you for any appointment not canceled 24 hours in advance.

Telephone requests for medication refills and questions regarding healthcare needs and or problems.  Such requests should be phoned to our office between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 833-5986.

Return phone calls from the nurse or physician will be made around mid-day and again after 4:30 p.m. Call-in prescriptions and phone consultations with physicians, both during and after office hours, may involve a fee for medical decision-making services. Payment Policy

The cost of your visit varies with the appointment type and any labs ordered. Blood pressure checks and routine medication refills by the nurse are usually free of charge. Before you leave the office, you will check out with the receptionist at the cashiers window. Payment is expected at the time of the service. If you have any questions regarding insurance or problems with payment please ask to speak with a representative from our billing department.
